On April 20, We Robot had the opportunity to participate in the Teen Day organized by one of its main sponsors, EDF.
That day, we had the chance to visit one of EDF’s sites located in the capital, more precisely in Saint-Denis, in order to present our club and our activities to the employees’ children attending the Teen Day.
After preparing our various workshops, always in a friendly atmosphere, the group of teenagers — including the one representing our club — was split into two: one group went to visit the facilities, while the other took part in the different workshops organized by our association, before switching.
A tour of the facilities:
We were able to visit EDF’s facilities. After a brief tour, employees gave us a presentation of the different professions within the company and its purpose (how electricity is produced, how it is distributed, etc.). A Kahoot was set up to test our knowledge about the company, as well as a game developed by the employees where we had to manage electricity production while anticipating residents’ consumption. These two games, which were victories for some, allowed us to discover the challenges and the various professions that make up this company.
Presenting We Robot through three workshops:
We had the opportunity to present our association to the teenagers attending this day. To do so, we provided three different workshops:
Micro:bit: (A micro:bit is an electronic board created by the BBC in 2016 to promote coding education among students.) The teenagers were able to learn the basics of micro:bit coding by displaying their names on the board, creating music, or turning it into a noise detector.
Robot: The teenagers present that day were able to discover two of our robots (the FTC 2025–2026 robot and the FGC 2025 robot in Panama). After a brief explanation of these two competitions and the creation of the robots, they had the chance to drive and experiment with their different capabilities.
3D Modeling: Finally, the teenagers were able to try 3D modeling by creating small figurines based on their imagination, which were then printed using a 3D printer we brought especially for them.
Participation in FGC 2025–2026 in South Korea.
This year, once again, we are fortunate to count EDF as one of our main sponsors for the FGC 2025–2026 taking place in South Korea. We sincerely thank them for their involvement and support toward our robotics club, allowing us to once again represent France in this major competition involving countries from all over the world.
